Soroptimist International of Pasadena has been actively assisting the community of Pasadena, Texas for over 50 years.
Soroptimist International Service Projects:
The Rose - (breast imaging center) Members volunteered their time and helped get the Rose started, and now continue their support by sponsoring an annual Gala each fall. This year’s event is scheduled for October 26th, at the Pasadena Convention Center on Fairmont Parkway. Here Event Chair, Sherry Trainer, and Club Treasurer, Sharron Webb, present a very large check to Dr. Mellelo and Dorothy Gibbons of The Rose from the 2006 Soroptimist Rose Gala.
This year's event, scheduled for October 26, 2007, will mark 20 years of support for The Rose. Please check our Rock N Rose page for more information.
Salvation Army - Members help with the annual Christmas bell ringing; stuffing Christmas stockings for the girls and boys, and financial support.

San Jacinto YMCA - (Girls In Real Life Situations) Members help with donations to the local YMCA’s partners campaign supporting their young girls mentoring program, G.I.R.L.S. and by donating school supplies for the annual Operation Backpack each fall.
(Back to Top)Sarah’s House - (local women’s shelter) Members volunteer their time, and help often with the purchase of needed items. This year’s fund raiser will purchase cleaning products and various supplies.

Crisis Pregnancy Center - a Lifeline for women experiencing unplanned pregnancies and an advocate for the unborn children'. with a vision 'to increase all areas of this Lifeline Ministry that we might serve more because the harvest is plentiful and needs are great.' Located at 10851 Scarsdale, #720, Houston, TX 77089, (ph) 281-484-0005 and (fx) 281-481-9075. This year Soroptimist members collected their change in decorated baby bottles. Collected funds totaled more than $300.00. This money was used to purchase baby beds and baby items for the new mothers. The club poses for photo op after picking up their baby bottles. Kathy Morrison is picking out her bottle to fill with change for the Crisis Pregnancy Center.

Members recently dropped by NuHope and passed out handmade purses filled with toiletries to the ladies there.

NuHope is a 501c-3, but does not receive funding from any governmental agencies, receiving only private donations. They help women on the road to recovery from additions. The ladies were very appreciative of the purses and the items inside. One young lady said, "it felt like Christmas"
